About Me

Ryan Sirk is a journalism student at Marshall University from Casa Grande, Arizona. Sirk is a junior and is also a part of the Thundering Herd’s soccer team. Sirk being a division one soccer player helps with his understanding of what athletes go through. He is also a member of the Marshall Sports Staff and is on the radio every week. He has been covering the Suns on Instagram for over three years on his page @houseofphoenixsuns. Because of his Instagram page, Sirk has had the opportunity to interview Suns commentator, Kevin Ray, Suns Head Athletic Coach, Brady Howe, and Suns Head Coach, Monty Williams. He has also had the opportunity to attend the press conference when the Suns officially announced the hiring of Monty Williams. He hopes to have more of these opportunities in the future. Sirk has a lack of experience as a writer and is hoping to learn as much as he can in the coming years before he graduates. Sirk also has a Suns podcast in which he voices his opinions and trade rumors about the Suns. His expertise is talking about the Suns via Social Media but is looking to expand his knowledge in writing blogs. Ryan Sirk wants to work for the Suns or be able to cover the Suns on a full-time basis when he graduates from college.

The Suns have been Sirk’s favorite team for as long as he could remember. He was fortunate enough to be able to watch Steve Nash in his prime, which made him fall in love with basketball. Steve Nash’s love for soccer also influenced Sirk which gave him the idea to try it out. The Phoenix Suns have had a big influence on his life, and he will continue to follow them the rest of his life.
